St Clare is taking part in Hospice Care Week 2017!
Hospice Care Week (9-15 October) is a national annual event organised by Hospice UK to raise awareness of hospice care across the UK. Hospice Care Week aims to change people’s perceptions about what hospice care really is, and what hospices are all about.
Anyone who knows St Clare knows that our hospice is a beautiful, bright and bubbly place to visit, providing personalised care to people who need us in the local community. Many people do not realise the true breadth of hospice care, or the compassion that it is delivered with – but Hospice Care Week is an opportunity to challenge those perceptions.
The theme of Hospice Care Week for 2017 is ‘We are hospice care’.
According to Hospice UK: ‘We are hospice care’ is an opportunity to show the many faces of hospice care and to share their inspiring stories. From nurses to volunteers, chefs to chaplains, corporate partners to carers, this theme is about celebrating everyone involved in providing and supporting hospice care.
Throughout the week, we have a range of activities planned…
We’ll be sharing with you some fantastic, brand-new stories from our incredible, dedicated staff here at St Clare, to showcase and celebrate the breadth of services we offer to our local community.
In addition, we’ll be hosting a Hospice Care Week Breakfast event right here at St Clare, open to all health, social and voluntary sector professionals working in West Essex and the borders of East Herts.
Our Hospice Care Week Corporate Fundraising Competition will be calling on the lovely local businesses in the area to come together to support St Clare, whilst raising awareness of hospice care and helping us to raise vital funds. Accompanying the competition, we’ll be hosting a Business Breakfast during Hospice Care Week, too.
