We still need your support on the road ahead
The response to our Urgent Fundraising Appeal which launched in March 2020 was phenomenal, raising over £120,000 to help us cope with the immediate effects of the coronavirus outbreak. But, there is still a long road ahead of us, and we need your support more than ever to ensure that we can be here, every single day, for people facing death, dying and loss in your local community.
In the twelve months from the coronavirus lockdown beginning, we are predicting a £400,000 gap in our usual fundraising income and £200,000 less coming in through our shops and eBay.
We estimate that the impact of the coronavirus pandemic could lead to a loss of £600,000 in fundraising and retail income in the twelve months since lockdown began. That is the equivalent of not being able to fund our Inpatient Unit for over 15 weeks.
Today, we are asking you to donate to our Recovery Fund to help us overcome the impact of the coronavirus outbreak and ensure we can still be here for those who need us most.
It is because you care, that we can.
During the coronavirus outbreak, many people have been sharing pictures of rainbows in their windows or on their front doors – as symbols of hope at this difficult time. As a small token of our thanks and appreciation for the support we have received throughout the coronavirus outbreak, we have designed a rainbow poster that you can print-off at home and display in your own way – perhaps in a window, on your fridge, or pinboard – as a reminder of how grateful St Clare is for your support throughout this time.
We hope it brings some added brightness and hope to your home, from ours.
Show your support on Facebook
If you are a Facebook user you may have seen the frames which people have been adding to their Facebook profile pictures in support of the NHS and other keyworkers. We have made your very own’ I care for St Clare’ Facebook frame which you can use – to show others how you have been making a real difference as a proud supporter of your local hospice.
Thank you, from our Fundraising Team
(on behalf of all our nurses, doctors, nursing assistants, housekeepers, chefs, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, counsellors, social workers and many more)
