St Clare is taking part in Hospice Care Week 2018!
Hospice Care Week (8-14 October) is a national annual event organised by Hospice UK to raise awareness of hospice care across the UK. Hospice Care Week aims to change people’s perceptions about what hospice care really is, and what hospices are all about.
Anyone who knows St Clare knows that our hospice is a beautiful, bright and bubbly place to visit, providing personalised care to people who need us in the local community. Many people do not realise the true breadth of hospice care, or the compassion that it is delivered with – but Hospice Care Week is an opportunity to challenge those perceptions.
The theme of Hospice Care Week for 2018 is ‘I heart my hospice’.
Here is our brand-new film to celebrate Hospice Care Week 2018. We asked our patients, volunteers and staff why they ‘heart’ their hospice, and here’s what they said…
Throughout the week, we have a range of activities planned…
We will be hosting an Open Hospice Event right here at St Clare, where we invite community groups to come and find out more about their local hospice.
In addition, at this Open Hospice Event, we will be launch our brand-new community art project – Heart your Hospice. Find out how you can take part in creating a heart art piece to represent St Clare in your community!
