We’re looking for talented people to join our team
Here at St Clare, we’re looking to expand our award-winning teams. We have a variety of roles available, and we’re opening our doors for a Recruitment Fair on Monday 24th January.
On the day, people will be able to find out more about the clinical and administrative positions available, and find out what it is like working at St Clare Hospice.
For those who aren’t able to make it on the day, we’re also holding a Virtual Recruitment Fair on the same day, from 5-6pm. Attendees will get the chance to talk to our HR team and find out more about the different roles available. They’ll also be able to speak with Hospice staff and managers and ask questions about the roles.

Expanding our clinical teams
We’re expanding our clinical teams in order to meet rising demand for our specialist care in West Essex and East Hertfordshire.
“Our specialist care requires skilled practitioners to deliver it,” says Carolanne Brannan, Director of Patient Care at St Clare Hospice.
“We know that the healthcare sector across the UK is facing challenges recruiting and retaining staff. This is why we are taking a new, ‘grow our own’ approach to staff recruitment. We want to attract both eager to learn, and experienced, clinicians and support their professional development to become experts in their field.”
“Our Recruitment Fair is the first opportunity we’ve had recently to open our doors to local professionals and showcase our services and the dedicated staff we have delivering them. Whether you are actively seeking a new role, or looking to find out more about what a hospice does and what it is like working in one, you will be welcome on the day.”
New, exciting roles
“St Clare Hospice is a unique place to work. I can tell that my colleagues really care when they are dealing with patients. It’s the patient-centred care that is at the heart of everything. It’s such a natural fit for me and I already feel as though I’m well and truly part of the furniture! I can honestly say that everyone at the hospice, not just the clinical team, have been so welcoming.” – Jack Squires, our new Specialist Paramedic
Jack explains that for him, it was the perfect opportunity for him to progress in his career.
“For some paramedics and other allied health professionals palliative care may not be on the career agenda. But St Clare Hospice has offered me opportunities to progress in my role. The role also makes use of my already acquired clinical skills and ability to work autonomously. I would recommend the palliative care sector as one of the most rewarding, job satisfying and evolving sectors of healthcare to work in.”
