DESCRIPTION:Explore a number of gardens in Theydon Bois this June\, in aid of St Clare\nAfter a seven-year break\, Theydon Bois Open Gardens are pleased to invite you to visit some of the gardens of Theydon Bois. \nTheydon Bois’ Open Gardens event will be smaller than years previous\, but nevertheless still enjoyable. \nOn Sunday 18th June\, call at Theydon Bois Village Hall to buy your tickets and collect a map and list of the gardens. \nTea and cakes will be available in St. Mary’s Church Hall which can be found next to the Village Hall. \nAdmission is £5.00 per adult (inclusion of all gardens)\, with accompanied children entering free of charge. Cash and card payment options available. No dogs allowed. \nBooking is not required. All proceeds from ticket sales and donations will go to St Clare Hospice. \nParking: You can walk or drive to the gardens are parking is available throughout the village\, however there will be limited parking at the Village Hall. DESCRIPTION:Come along to Great Dunmow Soapbox Race to cheer your local hospice on!\nOn Sunday 30th April\, a team of St Clare Hospice staff and volunteers are facing the Great Dunmow Soapbox Race in aid of the hospice. \nAmy Winehouse\, Head of Relationship Fundraising\, will be flying onto the famously rapid course in a handmade soapbox made by kind volunteer Terry. \nThe soapbox itself has been decorated with the handprints of staff\, volunteers and service users at St Clare. \nThis fast-paced thrilling event is the perfect opportunity to spend a nice day out with friends and family. Not to mention\, great food and drinks are on offer throughout the day to whet your appetite. \nNo tickets required\, with a donation required upon entry. Doors open from 10.30am with the first race taking place at 12pm. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an information session\, helping you to understand grief\nAs a way to mark national Grief Awareness Week\, St Clare Hospice will be holding a free Living with Grief Talk at Harlow Town Library on Thursday 8th December\, 2pm – 4pm. \n“Grief is a natural reaction to loss. There is no right or wrong way to grieve\, or set timescales.”\nThis free information session is open to the public\, and will be delivered by St Clare Adult and Family Counsellor\, Amanda Pelham\, and GriefLine Project Manager\, Chloe Rich. It is open to anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one\, either recently or long ago\, or to anyone simply wanting to find out more about grief\, and how to support others. \n\nUnderstanding grief\nThe talk will aim to help you deepen your understanding of grief\, and will cover: \n\nWhat to expect when you are grieving\nLooking after yourself and others\nFinding out what support is available\n\nAfter the talk there will be light refreshments\, and the opportunity to speak to others who have experienced the loss of someone\, as well as members of the Patient & Family Support team. \n\nJoin us\nThe event is free to attend\, and you do not need a prior connection to St Clare Hospice.
