They are often a necessary part of a pain relief plan for cancer patients. Progress has occurred in the management of cancer pain\, yet under-treatment persists. Additionally\, new challenges are threatening these advances. These challenges are numerous and include educational deficits\, time restraints\, and difficulties with side-effects and tolerance. There is no right or wrong way to grieve\, or set timescales.”\nThis free information session is open to the public\, and will be delivered by St Clare Adult and Family Counsellor\, Amanda Pelham\, and GriefLine Project Manager\, Chloe Rich. It is open to anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one\, either recently or long ago\, or to anyone simply wanting to find out more about grief\, and how to support others. \n\nUnderstanding grief\nThe talk will aim to help you deepen your understanding of grief\, and will cover: \n\nWhat to expect when you are grieving\nLooking after yourself and others\nFinding out what support is available\n\nAfter the talk there will be light refreshments\, and the opportunity to speak to others who have experienced the loss of someone\, as well as members of the Patient & Family Support team. \n\nJoin us\nThe event is free to attend\, and you do not need a prior connection to St Clare Hospice.
