SUMMARY:St Clare Masterclass: Tissue & Corneal Donation
DESCRIPTION:Join Dr Helen Saxena for a free lunchtime lecture exploring the importance of Tissue and Corneal Donation. \nIn this Masterclass for professionals\, our Specialty Doctor will look at the importance of tissue and corneal donation in palliative care. \nThis session is to raise awareness and understanding around corneal donation\, as this is a topic that can be of importance for a patient’s wishes to be met at the end of their life. There is some evidence to suggest it is a topic that patients would prefer to have at an earlier stage in their illness\, if this is something they would wish to be considered. \nClick on this registration link to book your free place on this masterclass session\, which will be delivered via Teams.

SUMMARY:St Clare Masterclass: Prescribing opioids - the pitfalls and challenges

DESCRIPTION:Join Lynne Hooper from the St Clare First Contact Service \nThe topic is ‘Planning for your future’ \nFreedom of choice\, making decisions\, voicing your needs\, hopes\, wishes are all things we take for granted. However\, life may change through illness\, disability or life events that make this no longer possible. \nAdvance care planning is a process that allows you to discuss and document your hopes\, feelings\, wishes and preferences. It allows you to retain some control\, allows you to make decisions\, even if you are not conscious and have no voice. \nIt supports your loves ones\, knowing they are supporting you within your values and wishes\, assisting Health Professionals within your care. \nThe aim of this workshop is to introduce you to Advance Care Planning – allow opportunity for discussion and introduction to documenting your preferences and wishes for your future care. The wishes you may express may be personal to you from where you would like to be cared for\, who you would prefer to care for your pet\, to your preference of shower to bath. \nSign up to this free\, in person event\, being held at the hospice HERE
