We’re celebrating our 30th Birthday in 2020!

In 2020, we will celebrating our 30th Birthday here at St Clare Hospice. We would love for everyone to join us in celebrating this incredible milestone for the Hospice!

Each year, our services continue to grow and develop, reaching more local people, facing death, dying and loss, than ever. As we approach our next big birthday, we took a trip down ‘memory lane’ to remember all of our accomplishments we have achieved over the past 30 years – all with thanks to the support of our generous, local communities.

How you can continue to support St Clare, now and in the future

We’ve grown so much over the past 30 years, but what does the future hold for St Clare Hospice? In 2020, it will cost more than £5million to offer our specialist, palliative care and support. We want to continue developing our services, and reaching more people than ever, but we can only do that with your continued, generous support. Thank you for making the past 30 years possible – and here’s to the next 30!

There are so many ways that you can support St Clare Hospice, so that we can continue being there for local people who need us for the next 30 years. Please have a read, below, to find out about some of the exciting ways that you can help St Clare to build a better future for local people living with a life-limiting illness, and their families.

1. We’re calling on all local businesses! Could you be a part of 30 Make £30k?

Why not ask your work colleagues to get involved in caring for St Clare?!  We’re looking for 30 amazing, local companies to each raise £1,000 through exciting fundraising activities with their staff. At the end of our 30 Make £30k challenge, we hope to have raised a staggering £30,000 to help fund our compassionate, specialist care for local people in the future – wow!

Please contact our Corporate Fundraising Team on 01279 773758 to get involved, and for ideas on how you can kick-start your year of charity fundraising.

2. Challenges your friends and colleagues to help raise funds for your local hospice!

Could you get 30 people together to take on one of our challenges? Whether it be friends, family or work colleagues we have a number of challenges suited to big groups taking part, including an exhilarating skydive or our Muddy Mayhem 5k run, round a mud-soaked obstacle course.

We’re here to help you take on a great challenge, in the company of your friends and family; whatever your imagination comes up with – we would love to hear from you! For more exciting challenge ideas, please visit: stclarehospice.org.uk/challenges

Alternatively, you can have a chat with our Challenges & Event Fundraiser, Emma Broadbent, on 01279 773754 or email emma.broadbent@stclarehospice.org.uk

3. Help raise vital funds in your local community with traditional fundraising ideas!

‘Community’ fundraising is truly the ‘bread and butter’ of traditional charity fundraising, offering the very building blocks on which the hospice movement was able to grow and develop. From bake sales and local fayres, to coffee mornings and quiz nights, and even collecting loose change at home or in the community – the world is your oyster when you choose to host a community event in honour of St Clare. Let your imagination run free!

We are here to support you with any planning or promotional needs you may have in regards to hosting a fundraising event for St Clare. We’d love to hear from you if you’d like to share your ideas with us.

Please contact our Community Fundraising Team on 01279 773736 for more information and ideas!

4. Love our Lottery, Care for St Clare!

5. Donate to St Clare Hospice

Donating to your local Hospice is a simple, yet powerful, way of supporting our care and support for local people and families who need us. You can make a single donation to St Clare, or set up a regular donation through Direct Debit. ALL donations are greatly appreciated by St Clare – and by those who we serve in the local community, who, without your support, would not be able to receive our compassionate, palliative care.

You may also like to make a donation to St Clare Hospice in memory of a loved one. Our beautiful Memory Tree is a wonderful way to honour someone special, offering you the opportunity to dedicate a leaf in their name to be included on our tree. At the end of the year, you can renew your leaf or take it home as a special keepsake.

6. Bag a bargain and shop with St Clare!

We have nine shops throughout West Essex and East Herts, each positioned throughout our catchment area to offer all local people a plethora of amazing deals and bargains – all whilst raising vital funds for St Clare!

Our shops generate hundreds of thousands of pounds in vital income for St Clare each and every year. By shopping with us, and donating pre-loved goods to our shops, you are helping us to offer our care to local people who need us. As well as contributing to a greener environment for all!
