Location: St Clare Hospice, Hastingwood, CM17 9JX

Salary £25,655 – £36,254 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Overview of role

The role of the Development Nurse is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to be supported by the skilled and expert clinicians within St Clare Hospice to become an expert practitioner within the discipline of palliative care.

This permanent post will initially consist of x3 1 yearly placements within different departments within the hospice. The role will begin in the In Patient Unit of the Hospice where the RN can learn the foundations of palliative care and how symptom management and end of life care are delivered. Year 2 will be with the Hospice at Home Service learning how to support patients and families in their own homes, fulfilling their wishes to die in their own surroundings. Year 3 will be spent with the Clinical Nurse Specialists where the successful candidate will learn about how a CNS supports patients with complex needs within an MDT as part of an integrated healthcare system. Year 3 will also include the opportunity to develop clinical skills and leadership within an outpatients setting.
