St Clare honoured with Heart 4 Harlow Award
St Clare Hospice has been publicly honoured for its work in the Harlow community at an annual community award ceremony. Heart 4 Harlow, an organisation which aims to bring together various groups from across the town, celebrated the impact made by local organisations and businesses at an awards dinner held on Thursday 5th October.
St Clare was presented with one of four Charity Awards at the event held at the Manor of Groves Hotel in Sawbridgeworth.
Collecting the award was St Clare Hospice Chief Executive, Sarah Thompson, who said:
“We were delighted to be nominated and to accept a Heart 4 Harlow award for St Clare’s services to the Harlow community. It was fantastic to see so many great organisations and businesses from across the Harlow area gathered together at the event – and to be celebrating their contribution to the town, especially in this, Harlow’s 70th anniversary year.”
“St Clare has been a part of the fabric of the Harlow community for more than 25 years and it is so important to us that we continue to work with the town, its residents and local businesses, to continue to build our services and to grow the support and care that we offer to Harlow people – in line with what they need. This award is testament to the quality of care that our staff and volunteers offer to hundreds of Harlow people and their families every year – but we are determined that we will not just stop there! Looking to the future of St Clare and our work with the people of Harlow, there is even more that we want to do to support people facing serious illness and loss, and this fantastic award will spur us on to work even harder to ensure every person in our local community can access the care they need.”
