Luna will ‘lead the pack’ at Winter Walkies 2020!
Lovely Luna, a seven-and-a-half month old Cane Corso, will ‘lead the pack’ at our annual Winter Walkies 5k sponsored dog walk (on Sunday 23rd February) after being crowned winner of our Cutest Canine Competition.
Luna, owned by Bethany Commins from Epping, has been named the Cutest Canine after winning our popular social media competition, whereby canine contestants compete for the most votes for a chance to win a bespoke hamper as well as the privilege of launching the Winter Walkies event.
From Pomeranians and Pekingeses to Irish Doodles and Cane Corsos, a total of 11 handsome hounds and pretty pups entered the online photo competition, with more than 652 votes cast in the 5 day contest. The winning vote for Luna amounted to 147 votes.
Luna’s owner Bethany said: “We are so excited to be leading the walk on Sunday 23rd February! St Clare Hospice is very close to our hearts and we are so glad we can get everyone involved to support, even Luna!”
St Clare Challenges and Events Fundraiser Emma Broadbent said: “We know our supporters are barking mad for their pets, but we were overwhelmed with the response to our Winter Walkies photography competition, Cutest Canine. The event, which has been kindly sponsored by Forest Vets, is one of the most popular in the Hospice fundraising calendar and we can’t wait to meet all our new four-legged friends on 23rd February.”

Advanced registration costs £10 for adults and £5 for children, which includes a free soup, dog medal and certificates for children. The event is taking place at St Clare Hospice, Hastingwood Road, Hastingwood, Essex, CM17 9JX.
