A team of eight lovely ladies from Saffron Walden will take on the Thames Bridges Trek for St Clare this September!
A team of eight local women are taking on the prestigious Thames Bridges Trek walking challenge in aid of St Clare Hospice on Saturday 8th September 2018.
‘Team Gorgeous,’ a group of eight girlfriends from Saffron Walden, are taking on the challenging trek to raise over £1,500 for the West Essex and East Herts hospice charity.
The Thames Bridges Trek takes place throughout central London, with participants challenged to walk 25km across 16 bridges within the capital.
Taking part on Team Gorgeous are eight local residents of Saffron Walden:
Lorraine Chedzoy
Sheila Thompson
Sally Hutchinson
Lucy Turner
Toni Porter
Cliona MacSweeny
Glastra Holbrook
Teresa Mason
The team were inspired to take on their fundraising feat after the hospice cared for Sheila Thompson’s mother, Mary Tang, who sadly died in July 2015.
Team Gorgeous jointly commented:
“St Clare Hospice looked after Sheila’s beautiful mother, Mary, three years ago this July. Mary was so lucky to have received the support of St Clare – she loved the nurses and doctors, who provided expert, specialist care to her. Mary also stayed in her own private room with a garden terrace where her family could visit. St Clare Hospice is a truly special place, with the most dedicated team of staff and volunteers. We want to make sure that everyone who requires their care is able to access it, so that’s why we are raising vital funding for the hospice! Team Gorgeous would love your support during this challenge, and every penny helps!”
