‘Super-gran’ Georgie strikes again! This August, the 82 year old grandmother of four will be taking on a 490m zip wire challenge!
An 82 year old grandmother of four from Bishop’s Stortford is set to take on an exhilarating 490m zip wire challenge in aid St Clare Hospice.
Dedicated St Clare volunteer, Goolmohr “Georgie” Cantel, will conquer The Zip at Adrenalin Quarry in South East Cornwall on Sunday 26th August 2018 to raise vital funding for St Clare Hospice, where she has helped as an Inpatient Unit volunteer for over 5 years.
As well as being in the ranks of St Clare’s more than 500 volunteers, Georgie is also a passionate volunteer fundraiser for the Hospice – having organised a series of Race Night and Afternoon Tea Party events over the past 5 years.
“Over the years, I have raised over £13,000 for St Clare Hospice – including the sponsorship I have collected from the challenges I do every year, such as climbing the O2 and taking on Stratford’s Orbit slide! It is my absolute pleasure to fundraise for St Clare Hospice, supporting the incredible care they offer to local people and their families in times of need.”
Georgie, locally known as ‘super-Gran,’ added:
“For 2018, this August I will take on The Zip at Adrenalin Quarry in South East Cornwall, which is the UK’s ‘maddest’ zip wire challenge! At 50m above the ground, I’ll reach 40mph as I fly in the air for 490m! I am looking forward to my next adventure.”
