A Santa-rific success for St Clare!

Our Santa Run in Debden took place on Sunday 8th December, marking the 6th year of the annual event.
Record numbers showed up on the day, with almost 200 local people clad in festive Santa suits ‘dashing through the streets’ of Debden and Loughton.
With the support of participants and sponsorship for runners, this jolly charity event raised approximately £8,000 for St Clare – enough to fund more than three days of round-the-clock care for three patients staying on St Clare’s Inpatient Unit.
Challenges & Events Fundraiser at St Clare, Emma Broadbent, said:
“We achieved record-breaking numbers at our 2019 Debden 5k Santa Run! We can’t thank the local community enough for their support – an amazing effort from everyone who took part! And it was amazing to see so many people ‘painting the town red’ in their Santa suits.
“On the day, it was also really touching to see the community come together and hold a minute silence for the recent tragic events that have happened in Debden. 200 of us came together to pay our respects to Harley and the family; it really felt like we all came together to support each other at this difficult time. Thank you so much to everyone for their kindness.”
