Hospice Shop Valuables Researcher

We need you!

We are looking for a skilled and friendly individual to join our Hospice team as a Valuables Researcher Volunteer, to research shop donations with value, and direct them to the appropriate sale site. You will work within our shops to identify antiques, designer items and valuables.

What are the key tasks of this role?

  • Researching goods via internet searches etc. for their suitability for eBay
  • Scanning bar coded items for comparable items, using the ebay app
  • Packaging items to be sent to other shops, auction, etc
  • Completing basic transfer forms for items due to be sent out
  • Help display interesting or unusual donations in store where appropriate
  • Helping in store with other duties as required

Working hours: 2 or 3 hours twice a week on Tues (pm), Wed (am), Sat (pm) – or on an ad-hoc basis, within our Debden shop.

What skills, experience or personal qualities will I need?

  • Good computer skills
  • Able to use phone apps and related devices
  • Good communication
  • Work well in a team
  • A keen interest in e-commerce, designer clothing or antiques trade
  • An advantage would be a specialist interest in a certain area e.g. video games, media, technology, toys, books, art, antiques etc.
