Frequently Asked Questions: St Clare Firewalk 2024

Why should I take part in the Firewalk? By taking part in the St Clare Hospice Firewalk, you will be helping to raise vital funds for hospice care.

  • £150 – By raising your minimum sponsorship for the Firewalk, you could help cover the cost of running the whole Hospice at Home team for two hours. A typical visit could include two nursing assistants gently and professionally washing and shaving someone in the last weeks of life, to give them back some personal dignity.
  • £500 – By raising £500, your fundraising could cover the cost of a weekend of specialist advice and emotional support from one of our clinical nurse specialist team, who visit people in their own homes and provide detailed telephone support, seven days a week. Their expert advice and guidance can take some of the anxiety out of living with life-limiting conditions.
  • £1,000 – By raising £1,000 you could cover the cost of running half a day of specialist care by the Therapy team, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and acupuncture, for someone who needs help regaining confidence. Through learning techniques, patients will be able to live their lives to the fullest.
