Fatigue is a common symptom experienced by people with lots of life-limiting conditions, including: COPD, lung conditions, cancer, heart failure, MS, Parkinson’s and other conditions.
Fatigue can really affect your daily life, and ability to keep doing the things you love. But with the right techniques and tips, we can help you to understand and manage your symptoms – so you can achieve your goals and live well.
What is a Fatigue?
- A persistent, subjective feeling of tiredness, weakness or lack of energy.
- It doesn’t necessarily correlate to rest or activity.
- It’s not ‘just tiredness’
Fatigue Management Group
What is the Fatigue Management group?
The Fatigue Management Group consists of a course of four, weekly sessions, hosted on Tuesday afternoons onsite at St Clare Hospice. It is run by an Occupational Therapist and Therapy Assistant.
Throughout the course, the four weekly sessions will focus on:
- Understanding fatigue
- Energy conservation
- Fatigue and lifestyle
- Fatigue and mental wellbeing
Who is the Fatigue Management Group for?
The group can help you if you are suffering from a life-limiting condition that causes fatigue. Fatigue can be an uncomfortable and distressing symptom for people experiencing conditions such as:
- COPD
- Pulmonary fibrosis
- Cancer
- Heart failure
The group is free of charge, and is for all adults aged over 18, who are facing a life-limiting condition. You just need to be registered with a West Essex GP or on the East Hertfordshire border.
