We find that many people choose to honour the memory of someone special by raising funds for St Clare Hospice in their name. By doing so, you will be enabling others to benefit from our care and support in the future.

Making a donation in honour of someone special

Lots of people choose to support St Clare Hospice in memory of someone they love, or in recognition of the care and support a relative or friend received from us. Donating in memory of someone special is a wonderful way to celebrate and commemorate their lives, whilst ensuring that our care can continue to be offered to others who need us.

You might decide to collect donations at your loved one’s funeral or memorial service, make a single donation to St Clare on behalf of you or your family, or create a personalised dedicated leaf on our Memory Tree. Whichever you decide, every donation we receive goes towards the provision of our health and social care services for local people who need support during the experience of facing a life-limiting illness, the end of life and bereavement.

How to donate

There are a number of different ways to donate to St Clare, please see the list below:

Donating on-line is the quickest and most convenient way of making a donation and this can be done by clicking here

You can call 01279 773750 Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm and our friendly Fundraising Team can take a donation over the phone

Cheques made payable to St Clare Hospice West Essex Trust can be posted to:

Fundraising
St Clare Hospice
Hastingwood Road
Hastingwood CM17 9JX

Please include your details and the name of the person you are donating in memory of so we can keep a record of how much is raised.

Create an online tribute

You may decide that you want to create a fundraising page online so your friends and family can easily donate to St Clare Hospice.

Creating an online tribute is easy to set up, just remember to select St Clare as your chosen charity. Invite people to add photos, videos, thoughts and stories to the tribute page that will remain open for you to look back on for as long as your wish. The donations will be sent to us automatically, so there is no extra stress or cost to you.

Funeral collections

Lots of people choose to collect donations at funerals either in lieu or in addition to flowers.

If this is your preferred option, please call or Fundraising Team on 01279 773 750 and we can arrange a personalised collection box for you to collect from the Hospice Reception prior to the funeral.

All you need to do is inform us of your loved ones name and send us your favourite photo of them via email – We will add this to your collection box. Once the collection box is returned to us we will process your donations and send you a letter to let you know how much was raised.

Alternatively, you can ask friends and family to donate directly to St Clare via any of the donation methods mentioned above.

Your funeral director may also be able to help you with collecting donations so it’s worth talking through options with them. Your funeral Director may suggest you create an online tribute page to collect funeral donations. Click here if you would li

ke to do this. Please see above for more detail on online tribute pages.

Dedicate a leaf on our Memory Tree
