In 2025/26, our collection tins raised over an incredible £21,000 for St Clare care, proving that every donation – big or small – makes a difference.

No fundraising event, planning or large time commitment is required. Simply display a collection tin or keep a collection box at home and watch those small donations add up.

Once your tin or box is full, we’ll collect it and count the money you’ve raised. Every coin helps St Clare Hospice provide expert care and support to local people when they need it most.

Collection tins are perfect for shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants, salons, offices and community spaces, giving customers, visitors and colleagues the opportunity to donate little and often.

If you’re prefer to support St Clare from home, a home collection box is a great way to turn everyday spare change into compassionate care for local families.

Request a collection tin or home collection box to raise vital funds for St Clare Hospice

To ensure all collection boxes and tins are managed safely and securely, we ask all supporters to follow a small number of guidelines when hosting one.

Please do not tamper with the box or break its seal. If you believe the seal has been compromised, contact us as soon as possible.

Ensure the collection box is placed in an appropriate, visible location and, where possible, securely fixed with a chain.

A member of the St Clare Hospice fundraising team or a volunteer will check your collection box approximately every six months. All staff and volunteers will carry official ID – please ask to see this before handing over the box.

If your box becomes full before a scheduled check, please get in touch so we can arrange a collection and provide a replacement.

When collected, the box will not be opened on-site. All funds will be counted off-site under dual control procedures.

Please report any theft or suspected theft to us immediately.

If your box becomes damaged or worn, let us know and we’ll be happy to replace it.

If you no longer wish to host a collection box, please contact us to arrange its return.

Please keep your contact details up to date and inform us of any change in ownership so we can update our records and share terms with new holders.

Home collection boxes are designed for individual supporters who would like to collect their spare change at home and make a difference for St Clare Hospice.

If your collection tin or home collection box is full, please contact our Fundraising Team on 01279 773750, and we will be happy to arrange collection or replacement. Alternatively, you can drop it off at our hospice reception, where a member of our friendly team can exchange it for a new one.

Once your collection tin or home collection box has been counted, our Fundraising Team will send you a thank you letter confirming the total amount raised. We are always delighted to let our supporters know the difference their generosity has made.
