Leaving a gift in your Will to St Clare Hospice

Gifts in Wills are a vital source of funding for St Clare Hospice. In fact, one in five people are cared for due to the generosity of those who leave the Hospice a gift in their Will.

We understand you will want to make your family and loved ones a priority. However, any gift you leave to the Hospice, no matter what size, will help us to provide the right combination of professional clinical care and emotional and practical support to those who need us. Even 1% of your estate will make a huge difference to someone on the journey towards the end of their life.

How can I remember St Clare Hospice in my Will?

There are a number of ways you can leave us a gift in your Will. We always recommend you talk to a solicitor about making or changing your Will.

In order to leave a gift to St Clare Hospice, you only need to give your solicitor the following details:

Our name: St Clare Hospice

Our Registered Charity No.: 1063631

Much of the care we are able to provide is only possible because of the legacies we have received. And it is the income from future legacy gifts that will ensure our care is available for generations to come.

A note from our trustee, Mark…

“My name is Mark, and I experienced hospice care first-hand when my wife was cared for at the end of her life. Losing a loved one can be a very scary and painful experience, but arriving at a hospice with my wife instantly took the pressure off of mine and my son’s shoulders. We were able to enjoy the precious time we had left with my wife, knowing the nurses and doctors would take great care of her.

“I want to make sure that St Clare is here in many years to come so that local families can continue to receive the same level of care that my family did.

“That is why I have decided to leave a gift in my Will to St Clare Hospice.

“Writing a Will is a profound thing to do – it is simple and empowering and I think everyone should think about writing one.

“When writing my Will, I made sure that my family and friends were taken care of first, and then I left gifts to various charities, including St Clare.

“Knowing that I will be making a difference to local families when I am no longer here means the world to me. I like knowing that I will be leaving the world in a slightly better place once I have gone – my legacy will live on, knowing that I have left a bit of my star dust behind to help others.

“Lots of people assume that you have to be wealthy to leave a gift in your Will to charity, but that is incorrect. Big or small, every gift counts and every gift will make a huge difference to your local community. Your gift will be remembered and honoured for years to come.”
