A brand-new charity shop is coming to town!
West Essex and East Hertfordshire charity, St Clare Hospice, is due to open a stylish new charity shop in South Street, Bishop’s Stortford at the end of December. The new shop is the ninth in the chain of St Clare charity shops, and will be stocked with great quality high street brands, at affordable prices.
Lesley Glynn, Head of Retail at St Clare said, “By stocking good quality pre-loved clothing and accessories, all at affordable prices, this new shop complements our existing specialist music and book shop in the town. The shop on South Street is one of the largest shops in our St Clare retail chain. It promises to be the jewel in our crown when it comes to shopping experiences with St Clare. Every time a dress, bag, plant pot, pair of shoes or trousers is sold; you will be supporting St Clare Hospice to provide outstanding care for the people of Bishop’s Stortford.”
“The Hospice’s Inpatient Unit in Harlow is often the place where local people go to get their symptoms under control or spend their last weeks of life. The care at the Inpatient Unit is tailored to each person and costs around £35,000 a week to run. We are pleased to be able to contribute to those running costs with the sales from our new Bishop’s Stortford shop.”
St Clare are currently recruiting for staff as well as volunteers to work in the new shop which will be open seven days a week. Once open, a dedicated drop off space will be available at the rear of the South Street shop for supporters to drop off donations.
