The London to Brighton cycle ride is challenging but achievable. To maximise your enjoyment, you do need to train and get out on your bike before the ride! Training plans will be provided.

We recommend you use a well‑serviced bike – it doesn’t need to be carbon‑framed or anything special, but it should be comfortable and well maintained.

As well as your bike, it is essential that you have a helmet. It’s up to you whether you carry a bag with you, but we recommend fixing it to your bike (search for bike panniers online) rather than wearing it on your back, which can become very tiring.

You will need to be 16 or over, but there is no upper age limit. However, all participants – whatever their age – should ensure they are fit enough to take part in the event. If you are in any doubt, please check with your doctor.

St Clare Hospice are unable to provide travel back for participants.

There will be four stationary mechanic points, at the start, at the morning and afternoon water points, and at lunch, but if you’re unlucky enough to experience difficulties in between those points, Skyline will also have roaming mechanics – just give them a call!

If you’re collecting money on a JustGiving page, there’s nothing you need to do – your sponsorship comes directly to us.

If you have collected any cash, you can bank it and pay it in using one of these options:

  • Pay the donations directly onto your JustGiving page, if you have one.
  • Call Sarah Piercy on 01279 773732 or email sarah.piercy@stclarehospice.org.uk for support with St Clare Hospice’s bank details.
