We’re here to help! From traditional bake sales and pub quizzes, to out-of-the-box ideas like scavenger hunts, concerts or virtual fundraising events – there are so many fun and exciting ways that you can help St Clare Hospice to truly make a difference to local people’s lives in your community.
Need some inspiration, or not sure where to get started?
Below, you’ll find some ideas from us for things you could do to help raise vital funds for St Clare. If you’d like more information about arranging an event, or want to talk through an idea of your own – or even just to tell us about your event – please do get in touch.
We are happy to support your fundraising feat with branded materials such as banners and leaflets, and we can also help you to promote your event!
Some ideas from us…
If you’d like to organise your own fundraiser, you will have our full support in helping you run your event, promote it and collect donations. Setting up your own event or activity is an inspiring and fun way to support the work of your local hospice charity.
Challenge Bingo
If you’re feeling productive, why not take part in our Challenge Bingo, download the challenge card and complete a line (in any direction) for a bronze certificate, two lines (in any direction) for a silver certificate and a full house for a gold certificate. These challenges can all be done from home using Zoom or Skype with friends and family, or even get your neighbours involved virtually in the challenge.
Online Concert
Feeling musical? Or perhaps you know someone who is. Why not ask them to put a set together for you and your friends to enjoy over zoom? Simply, ask for a ticket price or set up a fundraising page for your friends and family to donate along throughout the evening. You could also change it up and ask a comedian friend, magician or just an all-round entertainer to keep you entertained during a lockdown zoom, all while raising money for St Clare.
The Great Charity Bake-Off
Are you and your friends Master Chefs? Hold a bake off or cooking challenge with your friends. Set a list of ingredients that everyone taking part can buy and set the challenge for who can make the best meal using all of those ingredients. Ask for an entry donation and you can even ask your friends and family to pay to vote. Ready, Steady, Cook!
Scavenger Hunt
This is great for families to do while out getting their daily exercise. Set a list of clues and see who can find their way around your local town, village or area. Sending in photos to you to get the next clue. Ask for those to take part to pay an entry fee.
Virtual Pub Quiz
Get your friends and family together for a pub quiz. Write a set of questions and get your quizmaster to read them out and reveal the answers. Simply, set up a Zoom call and charge an entry fee to play along. If you’re playing with family why not ask family related questions, that only you know the answers too.
Virtual Bingo Night
Feeling lucky? Why not hold a prize bingo night? Get everyone together on Zoom and call numbers from a bowl for players to mark off and play along. Send out or deliver prizes (socially distanced) to the winners, it’s a good way to find a home for some of your unwanted goodies too.
Virtual Collections
As we’re not as visible with street collections and collection tins across the community during the pandemic. Set up a Just Giving page for St Clare and name it after your local town, village or community that will contribute, and then over a period of time ask neighbours, friends and family to donate to the Just Giving page and raise vital funds, as with a street collection or shop collection tin.
How to set up an online fundraising page
Go to Just Giving and click ‘start fundraising’ to make your own online fundraising page. Set your target, and personalise your page to let people know what you are doing and why.
If you require assistance in setting up your fundraising page, please feel free to get in touch. We are more than happy to help.
