St Clare Hospice is proud to offer free, high-quality training for domiciliary care providers, designed to strengthen skills and confidence in frailty and palliative care.

Led by specialist facilitator Paula Bavetta, this Tier 1 Foundation course provides essential knowledge for anyone working in health or social care who supports people in their own homes.

This interactive, three-hour session is delivered onsite at St Clare Hospice in Hastingwood, offering practical tools, real-world case discussions and a welcoming learning environment for all domiciliary care staff.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe frailty as a health condition and understand its impact on wellbeing.
  2. List the five key symptoms associated with frailty
  3. Use the Rockwood Clinical Frailty Scale (CFS) to assess the level of frailty in a client.
  4. Plan appropriate care and signpost clients based on their needs
  5. Describe the scope of services provided by St Clare Hospice and know when and how to refer

This ensures domiciliary care providers feel confident in early recognition, assessment and response to frailty in their community.
