This free face-to-face specialist training from St Clare Hospice equips healthcare professionals with the advanced knowledge and practical skills needed to train informal carers to administer subcutaneous (SC) medications to patients approaching end of life.
Delivered by expert clinicians in palliative and end-of-life care, this Tier 2 course focuses on governance, communication, clinical safety and real-world challenges encountered in community, hospital and hospice settings.
Who is this course for?
This intermediate course is designed for healthcare professionals who regularly support patients in the last phase of life and who may be involved in enabling carers to administer SC medications in the home setting.
It is designed for:
- Doctors of all grades working in palliative or community care
- Registered nurses supporting people with life-limiting conditions in hospital or the community
- Clinical Nurse Specialists
- Hospice at Home team leads
- Inpatient Unit nurses
Please note, eligible attendees must be employees of St Clare Hospice, EPUT, Princess Alexandra Hospital or a West Essex GP practice.
