Thank you

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported our Nurses Are campaign throughout 2021.

With your support, we’ve been able to meet the increasing need for our specialist care and expand our nursing teams. We have been able to fund new nursing roles and support more people who need us both through our Hospice at Home, Inpatient Unit and Community teams.

Your support – whether you have donated, or helped to spread our message that Nurses are Needed has been vital in the success of the campaign. You have helped us support local people when they needed us most, making sure they are not alone.

Join our nursing team

If you’d like to join our St Clare Hospice nursing team, we’d love to hear from you. You don’t need to have any experience in palliative care; just a passion to make a difference to the lives of local people – and their friends and family.

Our Nurses Are campaign has helped to fund new nursing roles. These roles have excellent development opportunities so why not check our Join Us page.

If you’d like to find out more, have a question, or would like to arrange an informal chat with a member of our HR team, please get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.

Why we need more nurses

What do nurses mean to you? People tell us that St Clare nurses are skilled, caring, compassionate and leaders. They are also needed, now more than ever.

Nobody wants to die in pain, away from their loved ones, or in unfamiliar surroundings.

St Clare nurses are supporting people facing death and dying in your community. We know there is more we can do, and we need your help.

  • 8 people will die in your community today
  • 6 of them wanted to die at home
  • But only 2 of them will get to

By putting the right people, in the right place, at the right time, we can help to change this.

With more St Clare nurses, we will be able to support more local people to have the best possible death, pain free, and in the place they wish.
