Come along for a ‘cuppa’ and a croissant at Café Clare!
St Clare Hospice is opening its doors to the public by launching a weekly coffee shop, open every Friday morning from 9.30am – 12pm.
Café Clare will run at the Hospice in Hastingwood on a weekly basis, open to all local people to visit for tea, coffee and breakfast.
“Just like a regular high-street coffee shop, Café Clare offers a place to meet and connect with other local people in the beautiful setting of your local hospice,” explains Jane Iskander, Day Therapy Manager at St Clare Hospice.
“You may have heard of Café Clare before through our Day Therapy programme,” Jane continues. “The Café has been running for around two years now, first launched as a follow-on group for local people who had attended our Day Therapy groups. However, now, we are excited to open this service up to anyone in the community who would like to visit St Clare for a ‘cuppa’ and a croissant!
“Café Clare is a great place to meet up with friends, or to meet new people who are local in the area,” continues Jane. “We really want this space to become a communal environment where people can come to socialise over a bite to eat.”
Launch party
St Clare Hospice will be hosting a launch event to open up Café Clare to all local people on Friday 14th February 2020.
“We’re so looking forward to seeing more local faces at Café Clare, so we thought we’d throw a little party!” says Jane. “Please do come along for tea and cake, and for a chance to celebrate with us.”
As of Valentine’s Day, Café Clare will be open to everyone in West Essex and East Hertfordshire. Local people can drop into the Café any point throughout the morning (9.30am – 12pm) – just like a regular coffee shop. The Café serves a range of continental breakfast bites, as well as tea and coffee, at great prices – with all purchases going back into the charity’s funds.
St Clare Hospice is located at Hastingwood Road, Hastingwood, CM17 9JX.
