We’re jumping on the bandwagon to celebrate Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday!
The 5 day annual Christmas shopping event will begin on Black Friday (24 November), which continues throughout the weekend until Sunday (26 November). Cyber Monday (25 November) follows the high-street discount rush as retailers extend their offers to their online shops, with Giving Tuesday (27 November) calling the long-weekend to a close in a global charity fundraising appeal.
All of our eight charity shops throughout West Essex and the East Hertfordshire border will be offering discounts of up to 50% off selected lines during the Black Friday Weekend (24 – 26 November). St Clare shops stock a range of both brand-new and pre-loved items, including furniture, homeware, and men’s and women’s clothing and accessories. For more information on our Black Friday Sale, and to find your local shop, please visit: stclarehospice.org.uk/event/black-friday-sale
For online-shoppers who daren’t face the busy highstreets during the weekend, the local hospice charity is encouraging supporters to complete their Cyber Monday sales through the Easy Fundraising online portal at: easyfundraising.org.uk
Easy Fundraising contains around 3,200 familiar shops and brands for users to peruse and purchase from. The organisation takes a percentage of sales made through the portal, at no extra cost to the consumer, to donate to the consumer’s charity of choice. The St Clare Hospice Easy Fundraising page can be found here: easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/stclarehospice
Giving Tuesday brings the weekend to a close with a global charity ‘giving’ appeal. There are a variety of ways that you can support St Clare throughout the festive period, including: making a donation to fund our care; donating pre-loved goods to our charity shops; volunteering during the festive period; donating presents to patients and families who are staying on our Inpatient Unit this Christmas; donating a Christmas tree; shopping in any of our eight charity shops; playing the St Clare Lottery; or hosting an event to raise vital funding.
Our Retail Support Manager, Ghazanfar Ajaz said:
“The festive discount shopping weekend is a real hit for so many retailers across the nation and the world – so why not extend that to charity shops whose causes are making a real difference in the local community with the money we spend on our Christmas presents and yuletide decorations? We’re encouraging people to come and pop in to any of our eight shops to have a look at the fantastic stock we have to offer this Christmas. We’ve got tons of items on offer for all ages, men and women!”
