Our Harlow charity shop hosted a mini music festival, raising £1.5k for St Clare!
A charity shop in Harlow has hosted a ‘mini’ music festival event in aid of St Clare Hospice. ClareFest took place at the St Clare Hospice charity shop in Harlow (2A, St James Centre) on Saturday 30th June 2018.
Hundreds of people turned up throughout the day to enjoy the festivities and shop an exclusive collection of pre-loved festival clothing and accessories on sale within the store.
In total, ClareFest raised over £1,500 for St Clare Hospice after shop sales and donations were counted. That’s enough to fund over two weeks’ worth of life-changing occupational therapy for patients of St Clare Hospice, empowering people, both physically and mentally, to live how they want to live.
On the day, attendees enjoyed music from local Harlow-based radio station, Phoenix Live, with live music performed by gospel choir Faith Sound and the band Monochroma, who are students of Burnt Mill School.
St Clare Hospice Head of Retail, Fiona Eaton, said:
“We are elated that ClareFest was such a hit with the local public! Hosted at our Harlow charity shop on a warm summer’s day, with local entertainment and attractions for all to enjoy, it really was a community celebration – raising money for a great cause that is close to the hearts of so many people in the town. We are extremely proud of our Harlow shop team for planning and successfully hosting an event like this. It’s such an exciting new step for our shops – we’re really excited for more events like this in the future!”
