Rollover Winner scoops top prize
A cheque for £10,000 has been presented to the winner of St Clare Hospice’s Lottery rollover. The jackpot was scooped by a player from Stansted, Essex who won the top prize on Friday 3rd July 2020.
The rollover prize, which hasn’t been won for more than 50 weeks, had grown to the maximum of £10,000 before it was won by the lucky supporter, Brenda Veal. The last rollover jackpot the St Clare Hospice Lottery awarded was for £10,000 which was won back in June 2019.
The St Clare Hospice Lottery has been running for over 20 years and currently has more than 15,500 weekly entries, which last year generated more than £450,000 in profit for the Hastingwood-based hospice.
Commenting on her lucky win, Brenda Veal, said: “I was nicely surprised to receive the phone call saying I had won the St Clare Hospice Rollover of £10,000, I never expected to win! It came at such a good time as it’s been a really difficult year for me and this lifted my spirits!
