Pawfect Cockapoo Puppy is the Winter Walkies photo competition winner!

Perfect pooch Milo, a 7 month old Cockapoo puppy, will be taking the lead when we hold our popular Winter Walkies on Sunday 25th February.

Milo has been named St Clare’s Cutest Canine after he won a Facebook competition to find the top dog to lead the pack at the sponsored 5k countryside walk.

From Pugs and puppies, to Collies and Cocker Spaniels, a total of 29 handsome hounds and pretty pups entered the online photo competition, with more than 1,500 votes cast in the 5 day competition.

St Clare Hospice has officially revealed the winner of their Cutest Canine photo competition ahead of their Winter Walkies event. Top dog Milo, a beautiful 7 month old Cockapoo owned by Nadine Walker and her partner Pete, is set to officially open the charity’s 5k sponsored dog walk taking place on Sunday 25th February. Milo won the competition against 28 other dogs after polling an incredible 439 votes on the Hospice’s Facebook page.

Milo’s owner Nadine Walker, from Harlow, said:

“I was over the moon when Milo won the Cutest Canine Competition. He is only 7 months old so this will be his first time at the Winter Walkies event and we are really looking forward to it. I think fundraising events like Winter Walkies are such a fun idea to help create awareness for the charity. The online competition was a great way to get more people involved in the event and I have tried to encourage everyone I know to come along and walk with Milo and I on the day. I’m just really happy that Milo can help promote the event, and hopefully raise lots of money for the hospice.”

St Clare Challenges and Events Fundraiser Emma Broadbent said:

“We know our supporters are barking mad for their pets, but we were overwhelmed with the response to our Winter Walkies competition. The event, which has been kindly sponsored by Forest Vets, is one of the most popular in the Hospice fundraising calendar and we can’t wait to meet all our new four-legged friends on 25th February.”

If you and your dog would like to join Milo and Nadine at St Clare’s Winter Walkies event at 11am on Sunday 25th February then register online at www.stclarehospice.org.uk/event/winter-walkies  or call the fundraising team on 01279 773750.

Advanced registration costs £10 for adults and £5 for children, which includes a free soup, dog medal and certificates for children. The event is taking place at St Clare Hospice, Hastingwood Road, Hastingwood, Essex, CM17 9JX.
