Over 1,000 visitors came to enjoy a day of fun, celebration and support for the charity which helps patients and their families across West Essex and the borders of East Hertfordshire.

The kindness, generosity and laughter of everyone who came, made it a day to remember and the St Clare team are already planning the 2025 Summer Fayre!

A variety of stalls, games, inflatables, local crafts, and delicious food were available, along with spectacular performances from Footsteps Dance School, Forest Musical Theatre Company and the Bishop’s Stortford Ukelele Society. There was something for everyone!

To top it off, a huge £15,000 was raised, which could cover the cost of running the hospice’s Community Palliative Care Team of nurses, doctors and healthcare assistants for five days. The team visit patients and their families at home, helping them manage complex symptoms themselves to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions.

Amy Winehouse, Head of Relationships Fundraising, said: ‘We are delighted by the success of the summer fayre, and the support of the local community means so much to us.

‘Seeing so many people enjoying themselves was wonderful and the feedback we got about the stalls, the entertainment, and the children’s activities was really positive. Holding a community event like this at the hospice brings people to a place that can be perceived as frightening, so to have over 1,000 people here was great.

‘We would like to say a huge thank you to our supporters, volunteers, performers and the local community, as well as our sponsors Sovereign Specialist Services Ltd., HTS Group and Jewson Partnership Solutions
