St Clare Hospice has teamed up with Uttlesford Community Action Network (UCAN) in the heart of Saffron Walden with a new location for its Café Clare coffee morning and a drop-in session.

Tracey Hall, Head of Community Engagement at St Clare, said: “It is wonderful to be teaming up with UCAN in Jubilee Gardens, Saffron Walden, and bringing our specialist knowledge and support to local people. Thank you to the Salvation Army for hosting us earlier in the year, we now look forward to welcoming local people to both our Café Clare, which is held in the Jubilee Hub, in Hill Street, in the morning from 10am to noon, and our drop-in, from 1pm to 3pm, every Thursday.

“Our communities have told us that getting to our Hospice in Harlow sometimes proves a challenge, which is why we have a regular weekly slot in the heart of their town. Please come along in the morning to have a cuppa and why not stay until the afternoon to talk to our staff and tell us what you would like to see St Clare do in your town. No need to book, just pop in, we are all ears!”

Richard Corby, UCAN Chief Finance Officer, added: “We are delighted to welcome St Clare to our Thursday ‘Wellbeing Hub’ sessions in Saffron Walden. Working with Enterprise East and Saffron Walden Town Council, we are creating a new community asset for Uttlesford – a place where people can meet, share, access help and support and enjoy being part of the community. Our Thursday theme is all about wellbeing, and the support that the St Clare team offers is a wonderful addition.”
