Hundreds of visitors turn out for first-ever St Clare Hospice Summer Fayre
We are absolutely thrilled to share that our first-ever St Clare Hospice Summer Fayre has raised more than £11,800 for our charity – an astonishing amount that will help support the vital work of your Hospice!
More than 1,000 visitors flocked through the gates here at the Hospice on Saturday 8th July, where a whole host of stallholders and attractions were waiting to greet them, including inflatables, crafts, food, refreshments and shopping as well as some energetic displays from Sorelle Dance Academy, UKA Karate and Bounce Fitness.
There was also a special appearance by Clare Bear who delighted children with a walk around and a few dance moves!
Stall holders had a huge selection on offer including candles, clothes, and plants providing an array of shopping opportunities. There was also a stand where you could find out more about nursing opportunities at the Hospice as we look to expand our nursing team.
Event organiser Ellie Gale, our Relationship Fundraising Manager, said: “We are blown away by the success of the fayre and the superb amount raised for the Hospice. We asked for support from our local community and they turned out in force! The day raised over £11,800, which could cover the cost of running the Inpatient Unit for two days.
“One of the highlights of the day was seeing people of all ages enjoying themselves. The atmosphere was great. We are so lucky to be part of a community that values the fantastic care that the Hospice provides. A huge thanks to everyone who came and made it such a success, our fayre sponsor Goodnus, and of course our devoted volunteers – we couldn’t have done it without them.”
