Get ready, set and…go at the St Clare 10K!

The St Clare 10K is the perfect opportunity for you to limber up and support your local hospice in spring. Here you’ll be able to put your fitness through the paces at the hospice’s very own chip-timed Essex 10K road race.

Who can take part in the St Clare 10K?

Frequently Asked Questions: St Clare 10K

What time does the 10K set off? The race begins at 10:30am, with our wheelchair racers heading off first with runners following shortly after.

Where does the race set off from? The race sets off and ends at St Clare Hospice, Hastingwood Road, Hastingwood, Essex. CM17 9JX.

Does it matter how long it takes me to complete the 10K? Not at all! We welcome runners of all abilities whether you’re a regular runner or completely new to running.

Is their an age requirement for this event? Yes. Participants must be aged 15 years and older.

What do I need on the day? As the run takes place in April it may rain or shine. With this in mind, we recommend that you dress appropriately for the weather, make sure to bring along your comfiest pair of running shoes and a bottle of water to stay hydrated.

If you’re early into your running journey, you can browse our eBay shop to see if we’ve got any running shorts or running shoes that fit your style!

Is the course on or off road? The St Clare 10K is a road race, which takes place throughout the Hastingwood area on tarmac roads. 

Can I wear headphones during the race? To keep our 10K runners safe from traffic and other potential hazards, headphones are not permitted at this event.

Is this event accessible? The St Clare 10K takes place both outside of St Clare Hospice in Hastingwood and throughout the Hastingwood area on tarmac roads.

The hospice has accessible parking spaces located outside of the main hospice building alongside 3 others based outside of the Taylor Centre car park.

The Hospice building is wheelchair accessible with access to assistive and disabled toilets. There is a hearing loop available on site. Currently, the hospice does not have a Changing Places toilet.

The event village including the refreshments and toilets will be held on the grass field next to the hospice, please note this ground may be uneven.
