Salary: £26,764 – £27,432 per annum (depending on experience) inclusive of 5% High Cost Area Allowance
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day, working 5 days a week, Monday to Sunday)

Overview of role
St Clare Hospice is a community-focused charity providing specialist palliative care to patients and families across West Essex and the East Hertfordshire borders. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional support and we’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to quality and care.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team. In this varied and rewarding role, you will help ensure our Hospice remains a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for the people who rely on us every day.
About the role:
As our Maintenance Technician, you will:
- Carry out general maintenance and repairs across the Hospice buildings and grounds.
- Support with redecoration, small building projects, and upkeep of facilities.
- Maintain and service equipment, keeping accurate records in line with manufacturer guidelines.
- Conduct PAT testing and mandatory health and safety checks in accordance with Hospice and HSE standards.
- Provide occasional maintenance support to our St Clare Hospice shops.
- Assist with occasional out of hours Fundraising events
- Participate in the emergency on call rota for the Hospice premises.
