To mark Hospice Care Week 2018, and to celebrate the theme ‘I heart my hospice’, St Clare is launching a brand-new community art project for people and groups across West Essex and East Herts!

Our Heart your Hospice art project will take place over five months – from its launch on 10th October at our Open Hospice Event, to the final art piece which will be completed by Valentine’s Day, 14th February 2019.

The heart-shaped art piece will be made up of individual hearts, created and decorated by people from all across our area. Anyone and everyone can take part – simply download the Heart Your Hospice template and get started!

What is Heart your Hospice?

Heart your Hospice is all about bringing people together from across our catchment area, and sharing with them what their local hospice does. A hospice is not just a building, but a very special way of caring, and we want to support people, and connect with them, wherever they are – and whatever stage of their life they are at, not just at the end of their life.

We are looking for people from all across our patch to take part in creating a community art piece, in the shape of a heart, made up of hearts that are created and decorated by members of the public.

The Heart your Hospice project represents that we are a local hospice, for local people, and funded by local people. It is thanks to the heartfelt support of our local people that we are able to exist, and to deliver our compassionate care for free, which touches the hearts of so many people in our community.

Take part with your community group or school

We are looking for community groups, arts and craft clubs, and groups of all kinds to take part in creating our Heart your Hospice art piece.

Either come along to our launch event on 10th October 2018 (places are limited) or contact Sally Muylders to arrange a workshop for your group. Sally will deliver a myth busting workshop about hospice care, and introduce the art project to your group so that you can take part.
