Our business supporters help our Hospice to change lives
With the turn of a New Year, we’d like to say a huge thank you to our business partners who have supported us as their Charity of the Year.
What is a Charity of the Year partnership?
A Charity of the Year partnership entails working with us for the duration of a year. Local businesses help raise both vital income, and awareness of our services.
Thank you
We’ve pulled together some awe-inspiring stories from our business supporters.
Stephen Way – Senior Project Surveyor @ Alinea
“alinea have been in partnership with St Clare for nearly 2 years now. We voted for St Clare as our chosen Charity Partner in March 2020 after they cared for the parent of one of our valued colleagues in their final months of life. St Clare also supported our colleague through a difficult period in the months afterwards. Supporting local charities through fundraising and volunteering activities is a key part of our Social Value agenda. We are committed to making a difference to people’s lives where possible. We place great value on our relationship with St Clare. We’re grateful for the opportunity they’ve given us to work with them and for the rewarding friendship we’ve developed.
“Though a difficult time we’re proud to have raised £8,000 for St Clare. We’ve hosted numerous events; including a London to Windsor cycle ride; a Summer Sports Day; Christmas raffle and ‘March for alinea’ (in which we collectively logged enough steps to walk to Bangkok). We also organised a successful volunteering day at the hospice earlier this year, which was enjoyed by everyone involved. We hope our practical skills have proven to be of benefit!
“As well as raising money, it’s been a pleasure to be involved in a number of events, too. From `Networking with Heart’ talks on Zoom; to the Summer Party and Winter Ball, where it was great to finally be able to meet the staff and other supporters of the charity in person. Both were great evenings that will live in our memories for years to come.”
Alinea have raised over £8,000!
Julie Martin – Administration Manager @ CloudMargin
“The team voted for St Clare Hospice in 2019/20 as they supported a member or our team during a difficult period. We wanted to give something back. We extended this into 2021 as the pandemic meant we could not raise as much as we originally aimed to do.
“In the 2 years we have supported St Clare, we have carried out various team events to raise funds. Including a Team Bake-off; Family Fun Day Picnic; Christmas Jumper competition; Christmas Baking Competition; Euros Sweepstake; Gingerbread House Building Competition; Easter Egg competition.
“CloudMargin has a strong CSR policy, which we are very proud of. To that end, our employees are deeply involved and vote each year on the causes that we support. There is always a personal alignment with the various causes, and also match our values. The whole team believes in giving back to the community.”
CloudMargin have raised over £3,000!
