On Thursday 12th May 2022, the first-ever ‘Fashion and Fun’ event saw around 100 local fashion-conscious shoppers gather in aid of local charity, St Clare Hospice.
Held at Epping Hall, the event was hosted by fashion experts Travelling Trends. Since its conception over 20 years ago Travelling Trends has hosted thousands of successful fundraising fashion shows, which in turn, have helped to raise thousands of pounds for many charitable organisations.
Guests were treated to a live catwalk fashion show, featuring this season’s high street and branded pieces for bargain prices.
The ‘Fashion and Fun’ event raised a total of more than £1,300 in vital funding for St Clare Hospice. That’s enough to pay for a more than 6 nights of support from a Hospice at Home night sitter, who will stay with a patient whilst their family get some much needed rest, secure in the knowledge that their loved one is being expertly cared for.
St Clare Hospice’s Community Fundraiser, Ellie Gale, commented: “This was our first time hosting a fashion fundraiser of this kind and it was wonderful to see so many people, of all ages, taking part and enjoying themselves. Since the pandemic so many of us have missed being able to shop for fashion in person, and so to be opening up again and enjoying a catwalk show celebrating the hottest new trends, was wonderful to see. We’d like to say a huge thank you Travelling Trends for hosting the event for us, and to all of those who attended and raised such a fantastic amount of money for St Clare. Your support really is invaluable and makes a real difference to people’s lives. Thank you!”
