The new school term brings opportunities for all!
With the summer holidays having come to an end, the new school term begins; bringing new opportunities for not just students who are going back to school – but parents, too.
St Clare Hospiceis looking for some helping hands to come and find a new opportunity with their local hospice this autumn.
“When the kids have gone back to school, and everyone has settled in, we know that some parents find themselves with a little extra time on their hands,” explains Rob Wallace, Voluntary Services Manager at St Clare.
“Why not dedicate that time to something meaningful, that can help us to change lives in our local community? As our Hospice services continue to develop, we need your help to ensure that we can carry on growing and reaching more local people who need us.
“That why we’re asking YOU to come and lend a hand in any of our nine charity shops throughout West Essex and East Herts. Each shop has a different character or specialism – from books and music, to vintage and retro; designer fashion to beautiful homeware.
“If you live in, or near, Harlow, Epping, Debden, Loughton, Buckhurst Hill, Bishop’s Stortford, Dunmow or Saffron Walden – then we’ve got a local shop for you! Could you spend a couple of hours a week helping us raise hundreds of thousands of pounds in vital income?”
Rob adds, “St Clare Hospice benefits from the support of approximately 300 local volunteers who lend a hand in our nine charity shops. However, with our growing hospice care and support services, and a demand to reach more local people than ever, now is the time to ensure that we can continue our vital work, now and in years to come. We need more helping hands to make sure this can happen.”
