Our fundraising event on Sunday, December 13 promises to be a fantastically festive way for families to kick off their Christmas celebrations; however fewer people than hoped for have so far signed up meaning we may be forced to cancel.

As one of the Hospice’s biggest fundraisers of the year, the Festive Fun Run is set to raise £20,000 of vital funding to help pay for the incredible care St Clare provides to local people facing a life-limiting illness, and their loved ones.

Our chief executive Tanya Curry said: “Our services are free of charge to those who need them, but they are not without cost, and with limited NHS funding, it would be almost impossible for us to continue being there for those facing one of life’s most difficult journeys without the support of our community helping us to raise the money we need to provide our skilled and compassionate care.

“We know local people really value the specialist care and support we provide, which is why we are calling on them to get behind our Festive Fun Run.

“We have a brilliant event planned, promising a great start to the season of goodwill, so please show your support for your local Hospice and help us raise the essential funds we need to ensure our care is available to our patients this Christmas and in the years to come.

“Together, we can make a very real difference to those facing a terminal or life-limiting diagnosis, and their relatives and friends.”

The Festive Fun Run, which is sponsored by Insight Private Finance, is taking place at the Water Gardens, in Harlow. Registration costs £7.50 for adults and £2.50 for children and you can sign up here.

Runners can also register on the day from 8.15am. The route is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs, and dogs are welcome.
