We think Winnie, a beautiful Shiba Inu owned by Harlow couple Chelsey and Ray Cleghorn, looks fantastic on the cover of our promotional poster after polling an incredible 509 votes in our online competition.
Chelsey said: “When we saw the competition for our dog to be the Furry Face of Winter Walkies 2016, we were so excited to instantly enter Winnie. I follow St Clare on Facebook as I believe it is so important for us as a community to support such a wonderful Hospice that does such inspirational work.
“I have read so many touching stories that have been shared on the Hospice’s Facebook page, and know of many people who have been helped by St Clare, so it is nice for such a fun idea to create awareness for their charity.
“Once the voting went live, I encouraged my friends and family to share and like Winnie’s photo, and I even had people from around the world joining in by sharing the page with Facebook friends overseas. Everyone thought it was a wonderful idea, and I was so passionate about Winnie winning because I couldn’t be prouder to have her be the face of such an amazing cause.
“When the Hospice phoned to say she had won, I was absolutely over the moon. Winnie absolutely loved her photoshoot with Pawtrait of your Pet photographer Vikki and certainly got lots of attention. We are all so excited for Winter Walkies in February and I’ve been trying to get as many people as possible to join in.”
